Benny Aghassi was born in Rehovot, Israel, in 1978. He studied recorder with Bracha Kol and Michael Meltzer. He won the Woodwind Concerto Competition and the Early Music Competition of the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem. He participated in recorder master-classes with Kees Boeke, Marion Verbruggen and Pedro Memelsdorff. He graduated from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 2002, where he studied with Sébastien Marq. In 2003 he completed his Master's Degree at the Conservatory of Utrecht, where he studied with Heiko ter Schegget. He has also studied baroque bassoon with Donna Agrell at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, graduating in 2005. He has held a grant from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation since 1997. He has played in the Early Music Festivals of Brezice, Barcelona and Utrecht.

Antonia Tejeda was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1975. She graduated from the Professional Conservatory of Music in Badalona in 1994 and studied at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Barcelona with Josep Maria Saperas. In 1998 she began her studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, studying recorder with Dorothea Winter; she graduated in 2002. She has taken recorder lessons with Sébastien Marq, Marion Verbruggen and Pedro Memelsdorff. She is currently a member of Rubato Appassionato and Les passions de l'âme (18th century repertoire). She has played in the Early Music Festivals of Barcelona and Utrecht.

Pedro
Castro was born in Porto, Portugal,
in 1977. He graduated from the Escola Superior de Musica of Lisbon
in 1997, where he studied recorder with Pedro Couto Soares, and from
The Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 2000, where he studied with Sébastien
Marq. In addition, he has taken recorder lessons from Reine-Marie Verhagen
and attended master classes with Peter Holgslag, Ricardo Kanji and Marion
Verbruggen. He performs regularly in Holland and Portugal with the Montalbano
Ensemble, Quadro Barroco and Ensemble Deneb (17th and 18th - century
repertoire) and has performed with Capela Real in Lisbon. He
received a grant from the Centro Nacional de Cultura (Portugal).
He has also studied baroque oboe with Ku Ebbinge at the Royal Conservatory
in The Hague, graduating in 2003. |
